Here is a typical sleeping position used during the "jump" at the Nghia Hanh Compound.

These two girls from the compound would visit the men from D Battery and beg for food.

The compound had a policy of rewarding kids who brought in U.S. "dud" or enemy rounds and explosives.  Here are some Chicom grenades.  The two on the left are NVA, and the one on the right was homemade by the VC using a salmon can.
